Root Chakra

Location: Base of the spine in the perineum

Color: Red

Sound: “La”

Sense: Smell

Description: Governs our basic earthly instincts needed for physical survival (food, shelter); reproductive organs and procreative powers.  The glands associated with the Root chakra are the ovaries or testes.  Problems in poor circulation, depression, infertility, menses, anemia, frost bite, and paralysis stem from a blocked Root Chakra.

Sacral Chakra

Location: Midway between the root chakra and the naval

Color: Orange

Sound: “Ba”

Sense: Taste

Description: The Sacral chakra, also called the spleen or belly chakra, is associated with the adrenal glands and controls and directly affects our physical and mental attitudes. Problems in nervousness, eczema and other skin rashes, kidney infections and stones, constipation, intestinal ulcers, coughs, exhaustion, menstrual cramps, arthritis, mood elevation, sexual disorders, lower back pain, and the kidneys stem from a blocked Sacral Chakra.

Solar Plexus Chakra
Location: Situated near the navel underneath the diaphragm, directly below the sternum.

Color: Yellow

Sound: “Ra”

Sense: Sight

Description: Governs our sense of personal power, self-worth, insight and decision-making abilities and is associated with glands located on the pancreas.  Problems such as stomach ulcers, diabetes, colds, flu, insomnia, fear, digestion, constipation, empathy, and psychic development stem from a blocked Solar Plexus Chakra.
